BSCN – UBC Geering Up Engineering Outreach, Vancouver, BC
I have been working as an Outreach Student Assistant with UBC Geering Up for my second co-op term. I work within the Outreach Division, which works specifically with Indigenous and rural communities to bring STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering Math) programming to both students and educators, year-round. As an Outreach Student Assistant, I have been able to support with team logistics, curriculum development, and often times instruct. I have been able to develop new workshops based on natural resource use and sustainability, and also lead workshops that were based behind Indigenous traditional knowledge.
