Over the past half of the summer, I have been working for E.S. Cropconsult Ltd. as an Integrated Pest Management Technician throughout the Lower Mainland and Fraser Valley. My responsibilities are monitoring pest/insect populations in various potato fields, collecting field data, samples of insects as diseases and reporting data to supervisors afterward. During the process, I learned about the implementation of biological, chemical, physical, and cultural control methods of monitoring potato fields. This taught me the importance of communicating, collecting and recording accurate data in the agriculture industry as well as all other working environments.
