BSCN – Clear Ocean Ltd., Richmond, BC
For my first co-op term this summer, I worked as a warehouse technician at the Clear Ocean Seafood Ltd. Clear Ocean is seafood producer and wholesaler committed to responsible harvest and ocean sustainability. My duties included assessing the well-being of marine organisms, managing data and reporting to the production department. I gained further knowledge in BC’s aquaculture and perceived natural resources’ integration in today’s business world and food security. In addition, I developed practical skills, such as operating with different machines and driving a forklift.
I used to imagine working outdoors, but through this placement, I experienced how amazing an indoor career in natural resources can be. I am thankful for this inspiring experience and people who I constantly learned from. I believe this co-op term helped me built the foundation for my long-term goal to work in the United Nations Environment Programme.
