Do you see it? Light at the end of the proverbial tunnel…
Our 3-week foray into online teaching and learning is winding down, and I have to say that the Faculty of Forestry really seems to be in a groove; things are going swimmingly well. There were very few issues to speak of this week, although our mighty Student Services team is now beginning to feel the weight of what happens when students get to decide their own fates with respect to Academic Concessions. And now, onto the next challenge – implementing final exams to the far reaches of the world!
Once again, I thank you for dedication and determination in making this transition to online teaching and learning a success. The students really appreciate all of your efforts, some even saying that they would prefer to learn this way! I also want to thank you for your patience as we try to sort through a growing number of issues related to students, courses, graduation, etc.
And speaking of graduation, did you know that the 2020 Faculty of Forestry Graduating Class is holding a virtual ‘ring ceremony’ tomorrow night? If you haven’t done so already, please feel free to pass along a note to Rumiko (firstname.lastname@example.org) by day’s end, congratulating these students on their remarkable achievements as they enter an increasingly uncertain world. We will make sure that the grad class gets to see your messages.
