MIF is a 10-month, course-based master’s program that provides the knowledge, skills, and tools required to address the social, environmental, and economic challenges of global forest and natural resources management.
The program also offers a 6-12 week placement or guided study working directly with partner organizations upon completion of the program. Previous placements include working with the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (UN FAO) and the Asia-Pacific Network For Sustainable Forest Management and Rehabilitation.

Dr. Agni Klintuni Boedhihartono
Equipped with a multidisciplinary background (Anthropology, Fine Arts, Cinematography, and Natural Sciences), Dr. Boedhihartono has worked with teams in remote locations in tropical landscapes and seascapes in Asia, Africa, and Latin America. Her work uses visual techniques to explore landscape scenarios and other participatory methods to maximize the involvement of diverse stakeholder groups. to support Indigenous Peoples and local communities.

Dr. James Langston
As the coordinator of the MIF program, Dr. Langston pursues transdisciplinary science in forested landscapes where the UBC International Forestry program seeks to enable more sustainable and inclusive development. He is passionate about ensuring that forestry professionals receive an education that best prepares them for the rigours of seeking, negotiating, and implementing solutions for complex global forest challenges.
