Global Indigenous Leadership in Genomics Symposium

The Global Indigenous Leadership in Genomics Symposium (GILGS ’24) is an initiative linked to the Summer internship for INdigenous peoples in Genomics Canada (SING Canada). SING Canada, a part of the SING Consortium spanning the US, Mexico, Aotearoa/New Zealand, and Australia.

The 2024 symposium will be held at the University of British Columbia. The event will unite SING member organizations, alongside local and national Indigenous genomics leaders. Activities will include SING alumni gatherings, a public session, professional development opportunities, and networking. The SING Consortium is a global advocate for Indigenous-led genomics, bioinformatics, data sovereignty, and decolonial/Indigenous ethics.
