As a co-op student working for TJ Consulting LTD, an environmental consultant based out of the Cariboo, I have been provided countless opportunities to further my forestry and environmental management skills in a hands-on environment. TJ Consulting has offered me diverse opportunities, autonomy, and flexibility encouraging me to grow as a soon-to-be graduate in the natural resource industry. For the past 4 months I have been working within TJ Consulting as a part of their tight-knit team. Throughout my term I have been given an increasing amount of responsibility and the independence to take on new challenges. I have advanced my timber development skills in addition to discovering new technical and organizational skills. At TJ Consulting I have been involved in a great diversity of projects ranging from cutblock layout to timber cruising and site plan preparation. My final co-op term has provided me with a variety of unique opportunities to evolve my technical skills with regards to natural resource management. Thanks to co-op, I am confident that my post-graduate career will be rewarding and full of exciting new opportunities.
