Collaborative for Advanced Landscape Planning (UBC)

For this work term, I was fortunate enough to continue my summer placement with the Collaborative for Advanced Landscape Planning (CALP) to further test the Coolkit, but with a twist – I was now presenting to high school students! From October onwards, I instructed over eighty students about various climate change and urban forest topics through a variety of mediums including presentations, demonstration, and games. This instructor role has given me the opportunity to interact with teachers and students, create my own workshop of sorts, and become more comfortable with presentations as a result of that. Surprisingly, I found great pleasure coming up with creative strategies to keep students engaged and focused on the slides.
