Agri-Food Canada
For my second co-op term I have continued my work with Agri-Food Canada as a Student Research Assistant. Throughout the summer, my supervising scientist and I set up and maintained in-field corn trials on three local farms to test and develop the efficacy of different nutrient management practices on crop yield. With the end of summer, and the beginning of my second work term, we were able to begin to harvest and collect data on the project we set up back in May. It was a great experience to be able to take part in this experiment because I was involved from the start and creation of our field trials up to the very end where we processed and analyzed our samples. This valuable experience, as well as my responsibilities and technical skills I’ve learned in the lab and through excel, has taught me a lot and given me fantastic experience.
