Communications Assistant for Pacific Wild in Vancouver, BC

For my last work term, I worked as a Communications Assistant for Pacific Wild, a local British Columbia environmental non-profit. During my time there, I was able to view the behind-the-scences of how a non-profit works. Pacific Wild is unique, because all of its funds come from online donations. They have a large social media prescence and have a strong emphasis on videography and high quality images, which showed me how important imagery and story telling is when it comes to conservation. They act as powerful tools to garner conservation support from the public. I am grateful that co-op allowed me to work for such a unique and succesful organization, where I further developed my skills in science communication.
