During my first co-op, I have been working as an Integrated Pest Management (IPM) Field Technician at E.S. Cropconsult Ltd in Pitt Meadows, Delta, and Richmond. I am a Cranberry Scout and take samples within the cranberry fields to find pests and diseases. Our data is reported to farmers and used to reduce the use of herbicides and pesticides. It is great to learn and contribute towards more sustainable approaches to agriculture. I love working outdoors and being more connected to the production process of these fruits! Co-op has been a great opportunity to apply skills developed in class to the workforce and experience different positions within the industry.
