The MGEM GTA Award recognizes outstanding contributions by graduate teaching assistants (GTA) from the Master of Geomatics for Environmental Management (MGEM) program. Each year one GTA who has demonstrated exceptional teaching excellence will be selected for the award.

Brent Murray – MGEM Top TA Award
Over the year Brent Murray spent a herculean amount of time supporting the MGEM students. As one of the technical mentors in the program he not only supported his own students but was always willing to answer questions from others. Students commented on his supportive nature and noted that while it is sometimes frustrating that he won’t just tell you the answer his ability to give you just enough information to find it yourself leads to better learning and understanding.
