Dr. Amy Wotherspoon, Program Lead

Dr. Amy Wotherspoon is a Postdoctoral Fellow with the Silva21 project, led by Alexis Achim (Université Laval) and Nicholas Coops (University of British Columbia). Amy has a PhD in Forest Ecology from the Université de Sherbrooke (Québec) with a background studying the interactions between climate, geological deposit and silvicultural treatments including thinning and mechanical land preparation. She now explores future climate across Canada’s managed forests and their impacts on forest dynamics with implications for adaptive silviculture. Amy also has a passion for teaching and has a micro-certificate in Higher Education Pedagogy from the Université de Sherbrooke, is a Practitioner with the Center for the Integration of Research, Teaching and Learning at UBC, and teaches in China with the UBC-Asia Transfer Program.
