Feng Jiang Canadian Research Chair Renewal

March 15, 2024 | Author: UBC Forestry

UBC Forestry wishes to congratulate Dr. Feng Jiang on the renewal of his Canada Research Chair Position in Sustainable Functional Biomaterials.

About Feng’s Research

Feng Jiang

Feng’s research program aims to convert abundant biomass into functional biomaterials through a cost effective and energy efficient means. This involves streamlining the isolation of bio-based nanomaterials, enhancing their functionality through comprehensive surface modifications, and constructing high-performance hierarchical structures. The overarching goal is to broaden the applications in both energy and environmental areas, contributing to sustainability.

About Canada Research Chairs Program

The Canada Research Chairs Program enables Canadian universities to achieve the highest levels of research excellence and become world-class research centres. Chairholders improve Canadian’s depth of knowledge and quality of life, strengthen Canada’s international competitiveness, and help train the next generation of highly skilled people through student supervision, teaching and the coordination of other researchers’ work.
