Junior Counselor – Vancouver Botanical Gardens Association
I’m a junior counselor for the Vancouver Botanical Gardens Association. I’ve been working with children ages 5-10 and taking them on a week-long day camps where they get to do crafts, adventures, and foster a love of nature. Some camp activities include pond peering, aquatic ecosystem paintings, and tag games that complement the camp theme of the week.

STEM Workshops Instructor – UBC Geering Up Engineering Outreach
This co-op term, I have been going into elementary, middle and high schools to teach students about STEAM. Through this co-op, not only have I been able to learn so much about different topics in STEAM myself, but I’ve also been able to work on my confidence in public speaking.

Forestry Management Assistant – City of Mississauga
I have been working as a Forestry Management Assistant (FMA) with the Forestry Planning and Permits team under the Forestry Department. My daily duties include inspecting and approving dead tree permits, releasing tree security deposits, and conducting TPZ inspections for pools.

Parks Laborer – City of Surrey, Shade Trees Team
For the first few weeks working as a Parks Laborer with the Shade Trees Team at the City of Surrey, I have been inspecting tree wells to ensure they have adequate granular material surrounding them and to verify that the tree bases are in safe condition.

Field Team Member – Surrey’s Natural Areas Partnership (SNAP)
I have been working in the Surrey’s Natural Areas Partnership (SNAP) program as a member of the Fall Field Team. The work content at SNAP varied every day, ranging from removing invasive species, preparing for community planting events, and planting trees and seedlings in Surrey parks.

Intern – Fiddlehead Nursery
I am working in Kimberley, Ontario for my first co-op term. I am working on a farm called Fiddlehead Nursery. In the nursery we sell a wide range of edible perennial plants. I have been doing plant maintenance, gardening, and other tasks like the construction of the chicken coop. I would sometimes do sales job by helping out the customers and answering the questions.
