BC Co-op Student – Bureau Veritas

During my co-op term in Bureau Veritas’ Environmental Services Laboratory, I started out doing sample and reagent preparation and have now slowly worked my way up to operating the machine that tests these samples for a wide variety of inorganic compounds. This has allowed me to learn more about interpreting data, and reporting results to clients.

Accounting Intern – Olympic Industries ULC

This fall I have been continuing to learn the behind the scenes of the lumber trading industry.
I’ve continued working as an operations intern in the accounts payable department at Olympic Industries, a lumber commodity trading company.
I work to pay mills, freight companies and various clients within a timely manner.
It has been an incredible opportunity to learn the ins and outs and day operations of lumber trading.

I have been working as an Invasive Vegetation Management Technician and Skilled Laborer with Evergreen Limited where I have worked on a wide range of projects – from monitoring the safe excavation of a salmon pathway expansion to treating invasive vegetation in remote areas of the Lower Mainland.

For my first term with the UBC Co-op program, I spent a summer working as a Junior Forest Technician for Strategic Natural Resource Consultants. During my time there I was given the opportunity to participate in many different roles within the field of forestry including boundary and road traverse, layout and stream assessments.
