Northern Spotted Owl Co-op Student – British Columbia Conservation Foundation
This summer, I am continuing at the Northern Spotted Owl Breeding Program. This year, we had a record-breaking breeding season with 12 new chicks joining our program, almost double our previous record! With the busy breeding season coming to an end, we have been shifting our focus to expanding the breeding centre by constructing aviaries and maintaining the property.

Overnight Camp Counsellor – CTS Youth Society
For my first co-op term, I have had the opportunity to work with CTS Youth Society, a non-profit organization, as an Overnight Camp Counsellor. My responsibilities included training and mentoring youth Peer Leader volunteers aged 15-18 and supporting youth ages 12-18 in outdoor education and community-building activities.

Summer Student – Weyerhaeuser
I have been working as a Summer Student at Weyerhaeuser’s Laminated Strand Lumber (LSL) facility in Kenora, Ontario – one of North America’s leading engineered wood product plants. While my daily responsibilities included performing quality checks and maintaining production line components, the most impactful part of my experience was participating in a site-wide internal audit.

Research Assistant – UBC Forestry TEAM Lab
I have been working as a Research Assistant in the TEAM (Timber Engineering and Applied Mechanics) Lab at UBC, where I have been involved in full-scale structural testing of mass timber beams. My main tasks include setting up sensors, preparing test specimens, and collecting data under supervision.

Integrated Vegetation Management Technician & Skilled Laborer – Evergreen Limited
I have been working as an Invasive Vegetation Management Technician and Skilled Laborer with Evergreen Limited where I have worked on a wide range of projects – from monitoring the safe excavation of a salmon pathway expansion to treating invasive vegetation in remote areas of the Lower Mainland.

During this summer 2025, I worked as a Program Facilitator with Wild & Immersive at UBC’s Malcolm Knapp Research Forest in Maple Ridge, BC. Our team delivers natures-based programs for school groups and summer campers ranging from ages 5 to 12.

Urban Forestry Co-op – Seattle Department of Transportation
As an Urban Forestry Co-op student, I have been updating and analyzing the Seattle Department of Transportation’s inventory of trees in the public right-of-way. I have been using the Urban Forestry Division’s ArcGIS tree collection maps to determine which city units require inventorying.

Invasive Species Program Coordinator – The Invasive Species Council of BC
As an Invasive Species Program Coordinator at ISCBC, I have been focused on monitoring Japanese Beetle traps in the lower mainland weekly as part of a bigger survey led by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency, using GIS softwares.

While working for Structure Craft in the drawing office, I have had the pleasure of working on several different projects. Structure Craft is primarily an engineering firm that also works with consultation and supply and install for the mass timber products.
