UBC Forestry & Environmental Stewardship congratulates Professor Younes Alila and Lydia Braam for winning the AMS Just Desserts Award. The Just Desserts Award honours faculty, staff, and/or students who have gone above and beyond in their service to an AMS constituency.

Juliet Lu is an Assistant Professor with both the Faculty of Forestry & Environmental Stewardship and UBC’s School for Public Policy and Global Affairs. She is a political ecologist focused on the implications of China’s growing investments in land and other resources in Southeast Asia and beyond.
The JEDI Story Behind Forest(Reads)
Forest(Reads) introduces UBC Forestry & Environmental Stewardship faculty, staff, students and interested individuals to JEDI topics through a literary lens. The inaugural Forest(Reads), coordinated by grad student Arial Eatherton, involved events surrounding Braiding Sweetgrass: Indigenous Wisdom, Scientific Knowledge and the Teachings of Plants by Dr. Robin Wall Kimmerer.
