UBC Forestry graduate and 4th year students doing a thesis or a major paper are invited to participate in the Forestry Research Showcase. This unique platform is a way for students to hone communication skills, articulate research compellingly, and discover the groundbreaking work of peers.

Tom Booker joins UBC Forestry as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Forest & Conservation Sciences. His research draws on population and quantitative genetics, bioinformatics, statistics and ecology.

Tzeng Yih Lam joins the UBC Faculty of Forestry as an Assistant Professor of Forest Measurements in the Department of Forest Resources Management. His research interests are tree measurement, forest sampling, and quantitative silviculture.
In The Spotlight: Tahia Devisscher
Tahia Devisscher is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Forest Resources Management and focuses on how to manage forests and other green spaces in and around cities to support human well-being and build social-ecological resilience to climate change. She is interested in developing practical strategies to address the increasing disconnect between people and nature caused by rapid urbanization.
