Field Team Member – Surrey’s Natural Areas Partnership (SNAP)

I have been working in the Surrey’s Natural Areas Partnership (SNAP) program as a member of the Fall Field Team. The work content at SNAP varied every day, ranging from removing invasive species, preparing for community planting events, and planting trees and seedlings in Surrey parks.

Co-op Student – Climate Action Program; City of Victoria For this Co-op term I have been working in the City of Victoria’s Climate Action Program. I have been working in various projects which include a business case for the cost of doing nothing about the climate crisis, gathering data on commercial and residential building energy consumption and related emissions, and extracting and summarizing data from a community engagement survey. Intern – Fiddlehead Nursery

I am working in Kimberley, Ontario for my first co-op term. I am working on a farm called Fiddlehead Nursery. In the nursery we sell a wide range of edible perennial plants. I have been doing plant maintenance, gardening, and other tasks like the construction of the chicken coop. I would sometimes do sales job by helping out the customers and answering the questions.

Groundskeeper at Point Grey Golf and Country Club in Vancouver, BC Since starting Co-op, I have been maintaining and overseeing holes 4, 5, 11, and 14 at Point Grey Golf and Country Club in Vancouver. My role includes using a walk behind mower to cut the collar and approaching of the green or mowing the tee boxes on my holes. I also move the tee markers, rake all the bunkers, and tidy up cart paths on my holes.
