Improving Forest Management with Mathematical Modelling
A team led by the UBC Faculty of Forestry & Environmental Stewardship has upgraded the free version of a mathematical modelling tool that could ultimately improve forest management through improved decisions. With these changes, the updated tool is now an open-source resource, independent of all commercial software.
Peter Arcese Receives 2021 Elliot Coues Award
UBC Forestry & Environmental Stewardship would like to congratulate Dr. Peter Arcese for winning the 2021 Elliott Coues Award from the American Ornithological Society (AOS). The Award honours researchers who have displayed innovative and outstanding contributions towards ornithological research.
Kathy Martin Receives University of Prince Edward Island’s Distinguished Alumni Award
UBC Forestry & Environmental Stewardship congratulates Dr. Kathy Martin for receiving the Distinguished Alumni Award from her alma mater, the University of Prince Edward Island (UPEI). The award is considered the university’s highest honour and the criteria for it is based on the university’s motto, “faith, knowledge and service.”
