Position Description
The Department of Forest Resources Management, in the Faculty of Forestry at the University of British Columbia-Vancouver campus is seeking applications for a part-time (25%) lecturer in the 2024W Term 1 (Sept to Dec 2024).
The successful candidate will deliver core lectures; coordinate with guest lecturers; organize and run lab sections; organize tests, mid-term exams, and grading; and hold office hours weekly.
About the Course
FRST 556 – Land Information Acquisition and Analysis (3 credits)
Principles and application of data acquisition and use.
Topics covered include discussing the multiple sources of forestry data and databases, forest sampling, use of allometric models, growth and yield modeling with a BC focus, site productivity concepts and measures, and linking forest inventory information with growth and yield forecasts for forecasting forest management decisions.
