Felix Wiesner

Dr. Felix Wiesner is Assistant Professor in Sustainable Timber-Built Environment – Fire Safety at the University of British Columbia. He has extensive experience in large-scale compartment fire tests to assess the fire dynamics in engineered timber buildings and their structural response. He has teaching experience in fire safety engineering design and testing principles from Europe and Australia where he taught for accredited fire safety engineering programs. His research has focused on mass timber buildings but he has also published on flammability of wood for applications in wildland urban interface and the interaction of wood treatment and fire safety for timber infrastructure.
