UBC Forestry wishes to congratulate Professor Richard Hamelin on being the 2023 recipient of the Canadian Institute of Forestry/Institut forestier du Canada (CIF-IFC) Canadian Forestry Achievement Award.
Richard Hamelin
As a professor and head of UBC’s Department of Forest and Conservation Sciences, Richard’s pioneer research in the field of forest pathology, genetics, and genomics have significantly contributed to advancing these fields. His dedication to serving the scientific community is demonstrated through the various roles he has held in several professional societies, the publication of over 190 peer-reviewed journal papers, and over 300 presentations around the world, as well as his leadership in mentoring the next generation of research scientists.
