Forestry Scholarships and Bursaries
Every April, the Scholarship Committee reviews your academic record to determine if you qualify for a scholarship. You do not have to apply for any Faculty of Forestry & Environmental Stewardship scholarship; we do all the work for you. The Faculty also offers a variety of awards, prizes, and bursaries.
Your outstanding academic performance may also qualify you for the Dean’s Honour Roll which is formally recognized on your official UBC transcript or for Honours Standing upon Graduation, which is recognized on your degree parchment.
Please note that not all awards are offered every year.
We offer bursaries to help defray some costs of Forestry field schools – details are provided each year to eligible students.
We can provide emergency funding to assist students who are in dire financial situations, contact Student Services.
UBC Scholarships and Bursaries
In addition to the awards granted by the Faculty of Forestry & Environmental Stewardship, UBC offers hundreds of general scholarships to qualified students. These scholarships are automatically granted by the Awards Office. In addition to scholarships, UBC provides a large number of needs-based bursaries each year, many of which are not awarded simply due to lack of applicants. The deadline for all application submissions is September 15th.
Information on how to apply for funding through the federal Canada Student Loans program or the provincial BC Grant or BC Student Loan programs can be obtained from the Financial Aid Office.
